The blackboard menu offers a variety of locally sourced, home-cooked food ranging from traditional pub favourites to Sussex game, fish & locally sourced Sirloin steaks, cut & cooked to your liking.
Wherever possible, we use local suppliers to bring you the freshest, highest quality, seasonal ingredients, and all our food is home made on site and cooked fresh to order. With items ranging from simple sandwiches served on freshly cut bread from the Granary Bakery in Midhurst, to South Downs Venison, there is something to suit everybody. A quick perusal of the Sample Blackboard Menu will give a good understanding of the breadth of dishes available, although the menu is ever changing so may vary!
For meat lovers, we procure whole locally-sourced Sirloins, which are cut and cooked to order and served with a choice of sauces, satisfying all preferences and appetite sizes. In season, we also have a varying Game section, featuring dishes such as Braised Pheasant, Whole Roasted Partridge and Game Pie, all sourced from surrounding areas. We also pride ourselves in having fresh fish on the menu all year round, with a designated fish board offering greater variety in the summer months. On Sundays we offer a choice of at least two roast dinners and serve both adult & child sized portions.
A Lunch menu provides a selection of sandwiches and Ploughmans' lunches for those not requiring a full meal, and our Children's menu is designed to appease most little diners. For those with a sweeter tooth, we also have a Dessert menu sporting home-made hot & cold puddings and a selection of luxury ice-creams & home-made sorbets.
